Every year at The Pennsylvania State University there is a huge charity event that involves the whole school. the charity is to support children with cancer and is put on by the "Four Diamonds Foundation".
The event consists of dancers from every group in the school and they dance for 48 hours to simulate the struggle a child goes through when going through cancer treatment. this event is widely known around the country and has a huge budget.
Chad Swires is the event coordinator and he selected me to operate the Lighting console for 10 out of the 48 hours. i got to use a quarter million dollar rig and play with lights for thousands of people.
The events in THON that I did were mainly the DJ and also 2 bands that needed lights done live and not programmed ahead of time. I was busking the whole time and it was so much fun and it was for a good cause.
